Timothy McCarthy, Chairman and CEO, came to Nikko AM in March 2004, bringing with him a successful track record of international leadership in financial services. From 1998 to 2002, he served as Chairman of Korea's Good Morning Securities, where a reorganization of operations led to the firm increasing its market capitalization almost sixfold.
McCarthy also served as President of Charles Schwab & Co., where he launched Schwab's online brokerage strategy and designed its successful OneSource fund platform. Previously, McCarthy was CEO of Hong Kong-based Jardine Fleming Unit Trust. He has also worked with Fidelity, where he launched a multifund platform for banks and independent brokers, and Merrill Lynch. McCarthy earned his B.A. with majors in international relations and economics at the University of California, Davis, and his MBA from Harvard University, where he was a Baker Scholar. McCarthy holds a black belt in karate, and has authored a book which was published in Japanese: Wake up to the Sense of Money, Japanese, which was on Japan's bestseller list and was selected as book of the month on Amazon.co.jp.

Bill Wilder, President and Chief Investment Officer joined Nikko AM in July 2004 from Fidelity Investments Japan where he was President and Representative Director from 1995 to 2004. During that time, Wilder established Fidelity's successful retail fund business, amassing the most local assets among major foreign firms that started selling their funds in Japan upon financial deregulation in 1996.
Prior to assuming the role of President at Fidelity, Wilder held various investment roles between 1992 and 1995, including director of Japanese equity research and fund manager. He also served as Director of Japanese Equity Research at Schroder Securities in Tokyo from 1986 to 1992. Having lived and worked in Japan for almost 30 years, he is fluent in Japanese and has extensive experience with local business and culture.
Wilder has served as a trustee of the Japan Securities Investment Advisers Association, the vice chairman of the Financial Services Asset Management sub committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, and a trustee of the American School in Japan.

Yoshitaka Akamatsu, Chief Operating Officer joined Nikko AM in June 2002. He came to Nikko AM from Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, where he separately served as head of market risk management and corporate risk management. He previously served as a director of Tokyo Mitsubishi Securities, and has experience in London as head of new issues and derivatives at Mitsubishi Finance International. He also served as a board member of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) from 1995 to 1997. Akamatsu holds an MBA from INSEAD and a B.A. from Keio University in Tokyo.

Frederick Reidenbach, Chief Financial Officer, joined Nikko AM in December 2004 after serving as the CFO and Chief Operating Officer of Aon Risk Service Japan. Reidenbach also served as CEO and COO of KVH Telecom, a Fidelity Investments subsidiary, where he was instrumental in constructing one of the largest data centers in Japan. Prior to joining KVH, he served as Chief Administrative Officer at Fidelity Investment Japan. Reidenbach is a graduate of Scranton University in Pennsylvania, USA.

David Monroe, General Counsel, joined Nikko AM in June 2006. He joined with significant experience as the top legal officer for asset management companies in Japan, including Fidelity Investment Trust Management Co., Ltd., where he was the company's Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, and Morgan Stanley Asset & Investment Trust Management Co., Ltd., where he was an Executive Director in charge of legal affairs for Asia. Monroe received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Kansas and a JD from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a three time recipient of the prestigious Harlan Fiske Stone scholar designation for superior academic achievement. He is admitted to the California and Washington Bars.
